The Guild focuses its efforts on promoting diversity and inclusivity in behind-the-scenes entertainment crafts by supporting underrepresented communities.
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, JUNE 7, 2023 - While the entertainment industry has made strides toward diversity on camera, there is much work to be done behind the scenes. Traditionally, the community of behind-the-scenes professionals has been a closed membership, difficult for any from underserved communities without connections to build a successful career.
Founded in 2020, the Property Masters Guild seeks to change that. As a core tenant of its mission, the guild works to elevate the craft of Property Masters along with the entire entertainment community by erasing the traditional hurdles that have barred potential members from underrepresented communities and opening their guild towards a more inclusive membership.
Organized by its Diversity Committee, the Guild has partnered with Independent Studio Services, a premiere prop supplier, and local event vendors, Angeleno Wine Company and The Grant, to host fundraisers in celebration of June’s Pride Month. Both fundraisers will donate 100% of the proceeds to the ACLU’s Drag Defense Fund.

Both fundraising events are open to the public to join Guild members in celebrating our LGBTQ kin and encouraging them to find a professional home in the film and television community.

Featuring Queens Ms. Cake Moss and Shanita Blunt, food, wine, a drag photo booth, a split-the-pot raffle, and a chance to win a custom Angeleno Wine magnum with wine tasting for 4. Raffle proceeds and a percentage of the proceeds from Angeleno Wine Co. will be donated to the Drag Defense Fund.

Featuring classic cocktails, local beers, natural wines, glizzy hot dogs, a drag photo booth, and a raffle for tickets to Sylvan Esso at the Greek. Raffle proceeds and a percentage of the proceeds from The Grant will be donated to the Drag Defense Fund.

ABOUT PROPERTY MASTERS GUILD
The Property Masters Guild is dedicated to highlighting and elevating the craft of the Property Master by raising awareness of the craft, fostering collaboration among craft artisans, educating its members, and inspiring future generations of Property Masters, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds.
